Join Tam Burke, Taylor Johnson and guest teachers on a journey into the practice of yoga.

Training Overview

This program welcomes all practitioners, including those ready to teach, and those who would like to deepen their personal practice and knowledge of yoga without the intention to teach.

Our training is more than the physicality of yoga, as we will dive deep into the roots of yoga, and apply these ancient teachings to your practice and daily life. This training will go beyond teaching you how to become a yoga teacher, and will encourage you to step out of your fear-based stories to empower you to step into a practice of self love – this training is a journey within. At SOL 19 we believe that our spiritual journey is never a destination but a consistent evolution.

Our 200 hour program will concentrate on Power Vinyasa, however this training will introduce you to other styles of yoga so that you may step into a lifelong practice. Tamara and Taylor are well versed in Power Vinyasa, but have comprehensive trainings in Ashtanga, Rocket, Acro and Yin Yoga.

Each day students will live their yoga through meditation, breathwork, practice, group discussion, lecture, workshops, practice teaching, and more. We’d like to ensure you that not everyone who joins our programs want to become a yoga teacher, however we will equip you with the tools you need to explore your own practice and the ability to guide others through flow.

This program is a wonderful reminder, that above all else we are ALL students of the practice, especially if you desire to teach afterwards.

If you have the desire to deepen your practice and learn more about yoga, then you are ready for this training. No amount of experience can prepare you for your first YTT.

This is like when people say I can’t do yoga, I’m not flexible enough… but that is why we go to yoga! The same applies for YTT – how will you advance your practice without training? This program has NO requirement for physical capabilities.

If not now, then when?

There is never a perfect time. You will figure it out. The one constant about life is that it’s always changing. If you feel ready now, figure out a way to make it happen now.

This is very common – but our programs are designed to help you deepen your personal practice, afterall Yoga Teachers are just students who have committed to being students for life. This teacher training has an incredible emphasis on personal evolution.

We offer at least one scholarship for $500 off tuition – we believe that yoga should be accessible to everyone. Please email info@sol19yoga.com for additional information.

We also offer payment plans and are happy to work with you.

This is an experiential learning program, meaning that all in-person hours are important to the completion of the program and a requirement for graduation. We understand that extenuating circumstances come up, so in the event of absences we have the following guidelines in place:

  • If a student misses any in-person hours, it is their responsibility to get the missed information covered from one of their peers:
    • Depending on the content missed, the student will then be assigned additional work to make up for the in-person hours missed
  • If a student misses a specialty lecture that cannot be made up in the above format, they must do the following:
    • Schedule a private make up session with the facilitation team at a cost of $75/hour
    • In the event that a student misses a module that cannot be replicated or privately scheduled, this student will join this module in the next round of 200-hour (if there is availability)
  • If a student misses more than 20 in-person hours, they will need to retake the program at full tuition cost (unless otherwise specified with the Program Director & Program Manager) in order to receive certification.

Jesse Seymour

Jesse is an E-RYT 500 and has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 15 years. He has a special kinship with the living spirit of Yoga and its many limbs. He teaches Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Progressive Ashtanga(Rocket), and Hot Yoga. For Jesse, Yoga is a sacred sanctuary to connect to oneself, nature, the elements, and to the mystic union of breath, Asana and movement. It is through this discovery that Jesse has devoted himself to sharing his love and passion for yoga with others. To truly inspire transformation, as well as an alchemical uncovering of our natural state… Empowerment, well being and grace.

Jesse has worn many hats in his life experience, he spent almost 20 years as a professional touring musician and music educator. In addition, he was a competitive surfer in California and Hawaii for many years. Jesse has traveled widely to both study, explore and experience vast cultures and their traditional practices of music, ritual and spirituality. He has discovered numerous parallels between these different pathways and the teachings of Yoga, from which he brings a unique flavor and texture to his classes, trainings and workshops.

Jesse has studied closely with Gina Caputo, Shiva Rea, Rod Stryker, and Josh Summers to name a few, he has been exposed to and influenced by many lineages and approaches to Yoga. As a result, his teaching style is unique and refreshing, an inspiring and invigorating approach which delicately balances power and grace in the true spirit of Ha-Tha. Jesse emphasizes breath, mindfulness and functional alignment throughout his classes. He offers informed, creative sequencing to keep you present, engaged and focused. With humility and curiosity Jesse remains devoted to refining his practice and experience, so that he may bring you the best possible offering to his students.

Anna Rosenstengel

Anna, a St. Louis area native, found yoga in high school and since then has been practicing nearly everyday. She initially came for the physical practice after growing up playing tennis and running. However, she quickly realized that yoga is so much more than the poses. Anna became hooked on the sense of mental clarity and serenity she felt after a yoga class. In 2018, Anna moved to Colorado to study Psychology at CU Boulder. She found her home away from home at SOL 19. In 2019, she graduated from SOL’s 200 Hour Training and currently plans to continue in the 300 Hour Program. Additionally, she has learned Rocket and Hot Yoga styles. Anna loves yoga for the mental clarity, healing, and physical strength it brings to her life. Her intention is to empower her students to live their yoga on and off the mat.

Dr. Matt Lyon

Anatomy & Meditation

At SOL 19, Dr. Matt is a key part of our yoga teacher training program, leading coursework in yoga philosophy and anatomy.

The first thing you will notice about Dr. Matt is a passion for what he does. Dr. Lyon had numerous physical and emotional traumas while growing up in Vermont. At the age of 11, he was introduced to a local chiropractor who helped him with his asthma, anxiety and pain. Once better, he wanted to help heal others, not just through body mechanics, but also through energetic healing and self-actualization. Soon after he began meditation and practicing yoga. He started teaching others at age 16.

Dr. Lyon holds a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. He has the highest degree of certification in Network Spinal and Somato Respiratory Integration. He is certified in Applied Kinesiology, with over 600 hours of training. He has studied with Dr. Donny Epstein, Dr. Walter Schmitt, and was also deeply and personally impacted by his time and work with a Spiritual Master from India. He was initiated into profound breath practices and ancient meditation practices – all of which date back some 5,000 years. Dr. Lyon has taught meditation and breath work for nearly three decades.

Keri Wenzel

Keri is an E-RYT 500 yoga instructor. She studied under Tom Quinn, Quinn Kearny, Geri Bleier, and Claire Mark at Yoga view Chicago. Her trainings have focused on human anatomy, proper alignment, safe adjustments & assists, as well as yoga philosophy & meditation. Her teaching is grounded in traditional vinyasa flow. Through continued training, and in becoming a mother herself three times over, Keri has also developed a deep love and passion for teaching prenatal yoga.

Sophie Meyer

Sophie has been a Colorado girl since she was four, her family and friends are her whole world along with her two dogs.
